Fidan: Given contribution of Turkey, UN prepared new package of proposals for “grain corridor”

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan regarding the Black Sea Grain Initiative said: “Taking into account the contribution of our country, the United Nations (UN) have prepared a new package of proposals. We believe that this is a suitable soil to activate the initiative.”

Fidan spoke at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.

noting that the level of trust between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin plays a decisive role in determining the development of relations between the two countries, Fidan said: “Today we conducted very intensive consultations both to two -way and regional issues. Having stated that Russia makes certain requirements for the uninterrupted export of its own grain and fertilizers, Fidan noted the importance of satisfying these requirements.

“Thanks to the active efforts and contribution of our country, the UN has prepared a new package of proposals. We believe that this is a suitable soil to intensify the initiative. The course of the Russian-Ukrainian war also took an important place in our agenda.”

He stated that the negative consequences of this war are expanding every day.

“As our president stated, there are no winners in the war, and there are no losers in the fair world,” Hakan Fidan emphasized.

The Foreign Minister of Turkey added that decisions are currently being searched for decisions on how to activate a more constant and stable grain agreement, noting that this is a very difficult and responsible task.
