Fidan: We continue efforts to resume Black Sea Grain Initiative

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that the resumption of the Black Sea grain initiative is a priority for Turkey. He added that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is doing systematic work on this issue.

Minister Fidan spoke at a joint press conference before meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine D. Kuleboy in Kyiv, where he is on an official visit.

noting that today’s visit is the first visit to Ukraine and Kiev as a Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fidan said that this is the first visit of a high level from Ankara to Ukraine after the visit of President Erdogan to Lviv in August 2022.

Fidan expressed sincere congratulations on the occasion of yesterday’s independence of Ukraine.

The Minister confirmed the support of Turkey of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and expressed condolences to the relatives and friends of the dead during the war.

Fidan recalled that on July 7, at the invitation of President Erdogan, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited Turkey: “During this visit, our leaders discussed all regional and bilateral issues in detail. Today we had the opportunity to trace the issues of issues agreed by our presidents.”

According to Fidan, his visit to Kiev began with the reception of the President of Ukraine Zelensky, then he met with the head of the presidential administration Andrei Ermak and said that they discussed more relevant issues in more detail.
