The FIFA Disciplinary Committee removed the former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales from football activities for a period of three years. This is stated in the message of the committee.
According to the statement, the decision on disqualification was made in connection with the violation of Rubiales of Article 13 of the Disciplinary Code of FIFA (“Offective behavior and violation of the principles of honest game”).
It is noted that Luis Rubiales had the right to appeal the decision.
On August 20, Rubiales kissed the captain of the Spanish national team Jennifer Ermos at the award ceremony after the World Cup in Australia, where the Spanish team won gold medals. After that, he was severely criticized. In September, the head of the football federation was forced to resign from his post.
