First Floating Gas Production Platform In Turkey Is Sent To Black Sea

Türkiye is preparing to put into operation the first floating gas production platform (FPU) called Osman Gazi.

.

The platform on May 29, on the anniversary of Istanbul’s conquest, will pass through the Istanbul Strait and go to the port of the film for further service in the Black Sea.

The platform that will be involved in the Sakarya deposit will increase the daily gas production from 9.5 to 20 million cubic meters. It is expected that Osman Gazi will begin work in mid -2026 and will serve at one point for 20 years.

The design capacity of the platform is 10.5 million cubic meters. gas per day in processing and 10 million cubic meters. for gas transmission. The gas processed on the platform will be delivered to land by 161 km by the main pipeline and entered the national network.

a vessel 298.5 meters long, 56 meters wide and 29.5 meters with a depth of up to 140 crew people.

In the ceremony of wires, which will be held at the Palace Dolmabahche, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayractar.

Arrival in the port of Filies

Türkiye strengthens its energy fleet

with the commissioning of Osman Gazi, Türkiye strengthens its energy flotilla, which already includes four drilling and two seismic vessels, occupying 6th place in the world in the number of ships for hydrocarbons.

Turkish drilling vessels

Fatih drilling vessel is the first national drilling vessel that began drilling in the Black Sea in 2020, where the largest gas supply in the country was discovered.

The second Yavuz vessel is equipped with a 103 m high drilling plant, can drill up to 12,200 m. In 2021, the Kanuni ship began at the Sakarya deposit. In addition, in 2022, the latest ABDülhamid drilling vessel was commissioned, which is considered the most powerful in the Turkish fleet.

Seismic vessels of Turkey

The seismic ship Barbaros Hayreddin Paşa in operation since 2012 is able to conduct deep 2D and 3D research. There is also a ship MTA ORUS Reis, built in Turkey. It is equipped with modern systems for scientific and geophysical research.
