Floods In Sri Lanka Kill 47 People

Landslides and floods caused by heavy rains in Sri Lanka have killed 47 people.

According to the local newspaper Daily Mirror, Sri Lanka’s Disaster Management Center said in a statement that there have been casualties as a result of the heavy rains that have been plaguing the country since last week.

The report said the disasters killed 47 people, left 21 missing and inundated a large number of people. homes, farmland and roads.

Across the country, 5,893 people were affected by the disasters.

Authorities said rocks, mud and trees falling on rails in mountainous areas disrupted some train service and left some lines under water.
