President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev considers extremely important receipt from Armenia cards of mine plants in Karabakh, without which the process of demining the region can stretch for 10 years.
“If we get cards of all mined territories, it will give us a big advantage, because otherwise this work (demining – ed.) will last, perhaps for ten years. Because everyone has been mined,” said Ilham Aliyev to the President of Turkey Receppe Tayypu Erdogan, reports AzerTaj.
The President of Azerbaijan noted that at present, 10 units of the Turkish mineral equipment “Memat” are used during demining in Karabakh.
At the same time Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan will receive from Turkey at least 20 units of such equipment.
The President also commented on the exchange of June 12, 15 detained Armenians on a map of minefields in the Agdam district. “The American side acted as guarantors (reliability of cards – ed.) And the place of Mines are correct. Armenia passed to us a map of 97 thousand minutes in the Agdam district, of which 54 thousand units are anti-tank, the rest are anti-personnel mines,” he said.
Ilham Aliyev added that after the end of the war in Karabakh, in the fall of 2020, 144 people of military and civilians of Azerbaijan died and were injured as a result of undermining on mines, since Armenia did not transfer the Baku maps of mine fields.
Earlier, the President of Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that Armenia during the occupation of Karabakh mined all these territories. According to the estimates of the Azerbaijani authorities, the need for demining territories slows down the process of restoring the region and return to the Azerbaijani civilian population.
Currently, Azerbaijani in the demining of Karabakh provides specialists from Turkey and Russia. In addition, the UK, Pakistan and a number of other countries said about the readiness to take part in this process.
