For first time in 18 years, Azerbaijani team in judo took 1st place at European Championship

In the Croatian Porech, the youthful European Judo Championship ended.

Azerbaijani team won 8 medals – 3 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze. Our youths produced 2 gold and 4 bronzes and took 1st place in the team event both in quality and in the number of medals. The last time the young Azerbaijani judokos sought this result in 2004.

As for the female part of the European Championship, only four Azerbaijani judokas performed in it. Having won gold and silver, our girls left behind many teams that performed in full force, and occupied the 4th team place.

Well, if you take performances by both boys and girls, then Azerbaijan took 2nd place, losing only to France.

Recall, gold awards in the asset of Shakhin Offersda (55 kg), Imranov’s bottoms (60 kg) and Fidan Alizade (57 kg). The only silver of Aidan Velieva (48 kg), and bronze on the account of Magomed Mamishova (50 kg), Abil Yusubova (66 kg), Nijata Nagieva (66 kg) and Ali Hajizade (73 kg).
