Türkiye, which has the second largest army in NATO, will continue to play an extremely important role in the architecture of European security. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Hakan Fidan during an informal meeting of the heads of the NATO Foreign Ministry in Antalya.
According to him, along with military potential, this is also due to the developed infrastructure of the country’s defense industry.
Fidan noted that the participants in the negotiations in Antalya confirmed the leading role of NATO in the architecture of Euro -Atlantic security, as well as the insolvency of European security from NATO.
The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry recalled that this architecture is rebuilt in the light of current conditions. “In such a period, we expect that all steps in the field of security will be taken without unnecessary steps, discrepancies and separation from NATO,” he said.
The minister noted that “the mentioned questions were issued on the agenda of meetings and bilateral negotiations.”
