Foreign Ministers Of Kazakhstan And France Discussed Issues Of Bilateral Cooperation

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ermek Kosherbayev, and the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Jean-Noël Barrault, reviewed a wide range of areas of cooperation of mutual interest.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the telephone conversation between the ministers took place on the initiative of the French side.

“During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on issues of bilateral interaction and noted the importance of further strengthening Kazakh-French relations, based on mutual respect, trust and constructive dialogue,” the message says.

It is noted that the ministers reviewed a wide range of areas of cooperation of mutual interest and expressed readiness to further deepen the partnership between Astana and Paris.

“The interlocutors confirmed the desire to develop political dialogue, maintain regular contacts and strengthen interdepartmental interaction. In particular, the progress in implementing the agreements reached was discussed. following the results of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France in November 2024, as well as the meeting of heads of state in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September 2025,” follows from the publication.

In conclusion, Kosherbayev confirmed his readiness to visit Paris on an official visit and invited his French colleague to visit Kazakhstan.

France is one of the leading trading partners and investors in the economy of Kazakhstan. Thus, trade turnover for 2024 amounted to $4.22 billion, and the total investment volume exceeded $20.4 billion.
