Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan On recognition of “DNR” and “LPR” and sending troops to Ukraine

The question of the recognition of Kazakhstan “Donetsk People’s Republic” and the “Lugansk People’s Republic” on the agenda is not worth it, said Journalists in the sidelines of the Government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdi. This is reported by vlast.kz.

“This question is not worth it. We adhere to the foundations of international law and the UN principles,” said Tleuberdi, answering the question, whether Kazakhstan recognizes the independence of these territories.

He also noted that on this issue the country will adhere to neutrality.

Do not stand on the agenda and the issue of sending Kazakhstan’s troops to Ukraine, added tolebredi. At the same time, “the official position of Kazakhstan is now being discussed,” the minister said.

“It is necessary to proceed from the analysis of the reasons why Russia has taken such a decision. Firstly, it is clear that there are no agreements between the West and Russia on the security system. Secondly, the participants of the Norman format are not capable and did not reach mutual understanding on the ways of implementing Minsk Agreements. This is also one of the reasons. The third reason: We are talking about the humanitarian crisis in the “DPR” and “LPR”. That is, refugee flows have now headed from these republics towards Russia. The official position of Kazakhstan is now being developed. In the coming hours the Security Council will be held where we officially take a position. But it should assure: the question of recognition by Kazakhstan “DNR” and “LNR” is not worth it. We proceed from the foundations of international law, “said the Foreign Minister.
