French President Emmanuel Macron contradicts himself regarding the Ukrainian conflict, speaking about sending Western troops there and at the same time offering a truce during the Olympic Games. This was stated by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, reports TASS.
“He constantly contradicts himself, says some very strange things. Then he first speaks of the entry of the European Union or individual countries of NATO into the zone of [Ukrainian] conflict, then he suggests that he will never initiate anything like that. Now I began to talk about the Olympic Games, ”said Zakharova.
According to her, the president and officials of France are constantly announcing the need to send even more military assistance to Ukraine.
The diplomat also stated that the behavior of Great Britain diplomats “sank to the hooligan level” in attempts to interfere with the presidential election in Russia.
“They [UK diplomats] fell to such a low -grade, flawed – literally at the level of hooligans – behavior,” she said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the Western attempts to “threaten and exert pressure” failed to Russians, citizens of the country abroad actively vote in the presidential election.
“They realized that nothing worked: the threats did not work, the intimidation of people did not work, logistics measures did not work, because our embassy was almost surrounded by barbed wire. People still came, people, for example, in Thailand, people were ready to stand for several hours in the sun in the heat precisely in order to vote, ”she said.
