Foreign Ministry revealed details of meeting Bayramova and Lavrov

In the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry disclosed the details of the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan by Jayhun Bayramov and who are on a working visit in our country. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the meeting one on one then continued in an expanded composition with the participation of delegations.

Welcoming your colleague, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the existing strategic partnership between our countries is developing in many directions. It was emphasized that cooperation is successfully implemented both in bilateral and multilateral format.

Minister Sergey Lavrov referred to a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan and fruitful discussions and noted with satisfaction that a telephone conversation was held between the presidents of the two countries. It was noted that the relevant departments implemented a strategic line of activity determined by the heads of states. It was also emphasized that there are many questions on the agenda of the cooperation of the two countries, and cooperation is carried out on a wide range.

The sides voiced congratulations on the occasion of the next anniversary of the joint victory over fascism, expressed determination and solidarity in the fight against the Nazi ideology.

Ministers discussed prospects for cooperation in many areas of bilateral agenda, including political, economic, trade, humanitarian, cultural, educational and other areas.

It was noted that the intensity of mutual visits between the two countries played an important role in the development of relations, and although the pandemic was a test for strengthening relations, there were no breaks in the relations of two countries for one day. It was emphasized that the results of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission held recently in Moscow are important from the point of view of the development of economic and trade relations, which, at least partially, influenced the pandemic.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, an agreement was reached on cooperation next year.

Parties also exchanged views on cooperation and mutual support in the framework of international organizations. The importance of continuing and strengthening cooperation within the framework of the UN, OSCE, CIS, BSEC and other structures was noted.

Ministers discussed the current situation in the region, issues related to the implementation of tripartite statements, as well as preventing them with implementation, economic and transport projects that will serve the normalization of relations and ensure peace in the region.

During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the ministers signed a “consultation plan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Russia at 2021-2022.”
