Foreign Ministry said “meaningless” statement of Kyiv about involvement of Russian Federation in coup in Niger

Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexei Zaitsev, called the statement of the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak, who accused Russia of organizing a coup in Niger.

“It is pointless to comment on, Ukrainian politicians change their statements 100 times a day. Even Western partners, who often criticize Russia without a reason, did not declare anything like that, so there is no substantive background here, it is just an empty statement,” Zaitsev said , answering the question “Anadol”.

Earlier, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, Mikhail Podolyak, in his account in X (previously Twitter), accused Russia of a military coup in Niger.

“It is already absolutely obvious that Russia is behind the so -called” military coup “in Niger,” he wrote.

The Ukrainian politician believes that this is evidenced by the support of the military coup in Niger from Mali and Burkina-Faso.
