Forest fires in Turkey were declared sabotage

The Minister of Agricultural and Forestry of Turkey Vakhit Kirishchi said that the Turkish authorities have suspicions of sabotage in connection with raging forest fires in the resort city of Marmaris. He reported this to the TRT Haber television channel.

“Currently, 2600 people work on the ground. The number of aircraft fighting with fire reached 41. 151 people were evacuated from their houses as a precaution. There is suspicion of sabotage against the fire,” he said.

Earlier, the regional forestry department of the province of Mugla said that a large forest fire broke out in Marmaris in the south of Turkey, two helicopters were involved in extinguishing, but due to strong gusts of wind, the fire continues to spread.
