Former wife of Nazarbayev’s nephew was sentenced to 7 years in prison

The court of Astana sentenced the ex -nephew of the first president of the Republic of Nursultan Nazarbayev – Gulmir Satybaldy by seven years in prison on charges of arbitrariness and abduction of man.

“To admit the guilty of Satybalda to Gulmir and impose a punishment in the form of seven years in prison without confiscation of property. The regime of serving a sentence to impose on the Medium Safety UMS,” said the presiding judge Kemenger Imashev upon the announcement of the sentence.

The court found her guilty under the articles “Arcting” and “The abduction of a person.”

In addition, according to the court sentenced, the head of state will be submitted to the deprivation of Satybalda of the State Nagad – the Order of Kurmet.

The main trial in the case of Gulmira Satybaldy began on March 14 of this year. In addition to Satybalda, there were her driver and performer of the abduction – Madi Batyrshaev and Rashid Utebekov.

Gulmira Satybaldy is the former wife of Kairat Satybaldyuly, who is the nephew of Nazarbayev. The Kazakh court on September 26, 2022 sentenced Satybaldyuly to six years in prison in the theft case.

On March 13 of the same year, the Anti -Corruption Service of Kazakhstan detained him on suspicion of abuse of power and embezzlement of Kazakhtelecom. On March 17, an investigation was launched against him and his former wife Gulmira on the fact of the raider seizure of business.
