Four NATO ships entered waters of Georgia

Four NATO ships made a call at the port of Batumi on Monday, the press service of the Georgian Interior Ministry reported. The detachment will leave Georgia on March 18.

“The Coast Guard of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the territorial waters of Georgia receives the second permanent naval unit of NATO. The unit includes: the flagship Cristobal Colon (Spain), Regina Maria (Romania), Kemalreis (Turkey) and Smeli (Bulgaria)”, – TASS quotes the press service.

The purpose of the visit is to increase the compatibility of the naval forces of Georgia and NATO countries. “It is important that the visits of the NATO naval unit to the Black Sea ports of Georgia are regular, which is one of the results of Georgia’s cooperation with NATO in terms of strengthening the security of the Black Sea,” the Georgian Interior Ministry added.
