France: an investigation began on fact of public insulting macron

The Avignon prosecutor’s office in the south of France began an investigation on the facts of public insult to President Emmanuel Macron and a “call for an uprising.”

Activists hung posters on advertising stands on which Macron is depicted with a mustache resembling the Nazi leader of Adolf Hitler, local media reports.

Provocative posters massively appeared on the night from Wednesday to Thursday.

Special symbolism was used using the numbers “49.3”, which refer to the number of constitutional amendments, which Macron and its government used to approve the Pension Reform without voting in parliament.

In the morning, the city hall demanded that the owner of the stands ensure the dismantling of posters. The posters in question are reminiscent of graffiti, which last month an artist named Lecto applied to the wall of one of the buildings, comparing Macron with Hitler.

Later graffiti was painted with white paint.
