In France, an investigation has begun in relation to the social network X (previously Twitter) and its leadership on suspicion of using the platform algorithms for the purpose of “foreign intervention”. This was reported by the French media with reference to the statement of the Parisian prosecutor ENT BCCO.
According to information, the Paris prosecutor’s office initiated an investigation on July 9. It applies to both the platform itself and the responsible persons making decisions. However, the name of the owner of X Ilon Mask is not mentioned.
The investigation was begun on the basis of two separate messages received in January. In them, the French parliamentarian and a high -ranking official of one of the state institutions stated that X algorithms are allegedly used in the interests of foreign structures and could create conditions for external intervention.
The case was entrusted to the department for the fight against cybercrime of the national gendarmerie of France.
