France: police by mistake confiscated sweets instead of drugs

The French police confiscated a large batch of ecstasy in the course of a special operation near Paris, but later it turned out that confiscated tablets and an unknown pink powder were actually overwhelmed sweets.

Reports about it on Friday Agence France-Presse with reference to a law enforcement source.

According to the initial report of the prefecture of the metropolitan police, published on Wednesday, the operation was carried out in drugs in the Saint-Wen Commune, which, according to the investigation, supplied synthetic drugs of organizers of illegal parties.

The cost of confiscated, according to law enforcement agencies, amounted to € 1 million

However, the results of toxicological analysis obtained on Thursday evening showed the complete absence of any narcotic substances or poisons. The source of the agency said that the pink powder, from which the pills were pressed, was most likely obtained by “grinding strawberry marmalad”.
