France refused to give Armenia an ex-governor

France refused to give Armenia the former governor of the Syunik region (West Zangesur) Surik Khachatryan, the Armenian media reports.

The French court refused extradition, motivating this by the fact that the issuance is fraught with serious consequences for Khachatryan.

The former head of the Syunik region has been on the wanted list since 2019. He is arrested in absentia. Khachatryan is accused of abuse of official position, official forgery, damage to the state. Recently it became known that the Prosecutor General wants to confiscate the ex-governor more than $ 47 million
