In France, due to the deliberate arson of signal cables, high-speed train flights on the Lyon-Avignon line were canceled.
The French railway company SNCF reported on its website that in the morning there have been disruptions and cancellations of flights on the Lyon-Avignon line due to a fire that broke out in a signal cable.
According to SNCF, the fire became the result of an act of “vandalism”, and repair work is currently underway to restore the damaged cables.
The company also warned of serious delays to trains in the south-east direction, including routes towards Paris.
Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot, in a publication on the platform of the American company X, said that the signal cables to the south from Valence station were “deliberately set on fire”, calling this act of “vandalism” unacceptable.
He stressed that SNCF employees are mobilized to restore traffic, and “those responsible for sabotage” will be severely punished.
