French BNP Paribas suspends work in Russia

The French banking group BNP Paribas reported to corporate clients, which stops any new business in Russia. This was stated by the head of the Supervisory Board of Ukrsibbank (enters the BNP Paribas Group) Francois Benaro, reports Bloomberg.

According to the report, the Paris Bank also informed its corporate clients that the local unit will no longer be able to handle their transactions from the end of March.

The subsidiary of BNP Paribas ranks 93rd in terms of assets among banks operating in the Russian Federation, he added.

In the context of the international sanctions imposed against Russia, financing of all new projects in Russia groups were suspended.
