French Court Lifted Ban On Pavel Durov Traveling Abroad

A French court has lifted the ban on traveling abroad from Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov.

According to local media reports, a judicial source said that the ban on traveling abroad from Durov, who is being investigated in France on various charges, has been lifted.

In June, judicial control over Durov was eased, and the Telegram founder was allowed to travel to Dubai (UAE), where he lives, provided he come to France every 14 days.

Durov, 41, has fully complied with the conditions of judicial control over the past year.

Durov has been released under judicial control

Pavel Durov was detained on August 24, 2024 at Bourget airport in Paris as he got off his private plane.

Durov was reported to have been detained on charges of providing access to illegal content in Telegram.

The Paris prosecutor’s office reported that Durov, who was charged with 12 different charges, after 96 hours of detention was released by the court on August 28, 2024 on bail of 5 million euros and judicial control, will be tried without detention and is prohibited from leaving French territory.
