FSB accused ex-employee of US Consulate General of Spying

The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) charged the ex-employee of the US Consulate General in Vladivostok to a citizen of the Russian Federation Robert Shonov.

This is stated in the message on the website of the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

According to the report, he is charged with the collection for the United States data on the course of the so -called special military operation in Ukraine and the course of mobilization.

According to the FSB, from September 2022, until the detention, Shonov collected Jeffrey Sillin and David Bernstain for employees of the US Embassy in Moscow about the course of “Svo”.

The department reported that the information indicated the details of mobilization processes in the Russian regions, problematic points and their influence on protest activity on the eve of the presidential election in 2024.

In the case, it is planned to interrogate the aforementioned American diplomats, the embassy in Moscow has already been sent the appropriate summons.
