Gazprom put Moldova ultimatum: do not pay for debt – turn off gas

The situation with gas supplies to Moldova has developed in the fault of the authorities of the republic, the debt for the supplied gas is 433 million dollars, there is no policy, Gazprom cannot work at a loss. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian company Sergei Kupriyanov.

“There was a very difficult situation with Russian gas supplies to Moldova. Wines for this entirely and completely lies on the authorities of Moldova. We are talking about the crisis of non-payment from Moldova for Russian gas,” the TASS leads the words of Kupriyanov.

He explained that the republic has accumulated for the already delivered gas: “… 433 million dollars, and taking into account the delay in payments, the total amount of debt is $ 709 million. At the same time, representatives of Moldova for some reason do not want to recognize the accumulated amount of debt . Moldova’s representatives also do not like the price of gas, although the pricing here is understandable and transparent. “

Kupriyanov assures that in the situation with gas supplies to Moldova there is no policy, Gazprom can not work at a loss. He noted that “if the gas supply is not fully made and, accordingly, a new contract will not be signed from December 1 of this year, the Gazprom will stop gas supplies to Moldova.”

At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spõna, said Moldova to look for alternative suppliers to provide a country with gas and diversify supply. At the same time, Chisinau intends to continue negotiations with Moscow and achieve an additional discount, RBC-Ukraine reports.

According to him, the cost of gas proposed by the Russian side includes financial and non-financial conditions, as well as payment for limited dates. At the same time, the price turns out to be higher supply in the international gas market. “Moldova cannot agree to pay more than other states in the region,” added Vice Prime Minister.

On the eve of the Moldovan delegation in Moscow, October 22 could not agree on the terms of the contract for the supply of gas with Russian Gazprom.
