The troops of the Russian Federation are trying to resume the offensive and capture the Zaporizhzhya region. About this at a briefing on Thursday, June 9, said Alexei Gromov, deputy head of the main operational department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Gromov noted that in the Zaporizhzhya, Krivorozhsky and Nikolaev directions, the Russians are conducting a positional defense and shelling Ukrainian troops.
“The enemy focused on holding the borders, but at the same time does not leave attempts to resume an offensive in these areas, probably in order to enter the administrative boundaries of the Zaporizhzhya region,” Gromov said.
He noted that in the event of a complete seizure of the Kherson region, the Russians will try to take Nikolaev to create conditions for the attack on Odessa.
