Georgia has strengthened customs control on border with Russia

Georgian authorities strengthened the work of the Kazbegi-Verkhny Lars customs and entrance center to avoid the turnover of goods, the import of which in Russia is prohibited by sanctions introduced by the West and a number of other countries of the war in Ukraine, the Prime Minister of the Republic Irakli Garibashvili said, speaking in parliament.

“To strengthen the customs control of the turnover of goods at the customs and receipt of Kazbegi, the number of employees increased. X -ray scanners were additionally installed. Thus, all goods are strictly controlled,” Garibashvili quoted TASS.

He noted that this is done in order to avoid the turnover of sanctions goods.
