Georgia: situation with COVID worsen: they declared beginning of fifth wave

The fifth wave of propagation of coronavirus infection began in Georgia. This was reported by the general director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Ministry of Health of the country Amira Gamkrelidze.

“The number of cases of infection has seriously increased, and this is the beginning of the so-called fifth wave. Unfortunately, this wave begins with high indicators, and therefore it is important that we all take into account the recommendations – we wore masks, followed the distance, avoided mass assemblies and Vaccused, “said Gamkrelidze in a conversation with the first channel of the Public Broadcaster of Georgia, his words leads TASS.

He again called on the inhabitants of the country to vaccinate: “During the last week, the situation has deteriorated … Therefore, I once again ask the population to be harvested.”

In the last 24 hours, Georgian doctors diagnosed 4,581 new infection case. In total, in Georgia with a population of more than 3.7 million people from the beginning of the pandemic revealed 662,334 cases of infection (17.8% of the population), 612 481 people recovered, 9,468 patients died from infection of complications.
