Georgian citizen was detained on charges of terrorism

The counter -terrorist center of the Georgian State Security Service announced the detention at the Tbilisi International Airport of a citizen of this country Tsiskara Tokhosashvili, accused of participating in the ISIS terrorist organization.

According to the service, Tokhosashvili left Georgia in 2015 and joined the ISIS ranks, heading one of the detachments and participating in hostilities in Syria and Iraq, had active ties with the leaders of the terrorist organization.

The detainee faces a prison punishment in Georgia from 10 to 17 years in prison.

The service added that the younger brother of Tokhosashvili Caesar, who also fought in the ranks of ISIS, was detained in Georgia in 2019. He is currently serving a long time in the Georgian prison.
