German Chancellor met with Turkish F-16 pilots as part of NATO exercises

German Chancellor Olaf Sholts, during his visit to the largest Air Defender 2023 air exercises in the history of NATO, met with the commander of the Turkish F-16 Turkish, Colonel of the Turkish Air Force Ersin Ozmen.

The German Chancellor arrived at the Yagel military air base in northern Germany and wished success the F-16 of the F-16 of the Turkish Air Force. In turn, the colonel of the Turkish Air Force thanked the German Chancellor.

Scholz also examined the planes involved in the exercises.

Turning to the topic of the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Scholz said that the war was a turning point. “Because this fact means the readiness of a powerful country to invade his neighbor to seize part or his entire territory, if he has power. We all do not agree with this approach, the boundaries should be inviolable and cannot be changed by force,” said Chancellor.

According to him, the exercises are a sign that the defense forces of the country and the Alliance are joint training in order to protect every inch of the Earth.

“It is very important that we conduct joint exercises in order to declare that we are ready to protect every span of our land. This is what always attracted my attention is that there is a great desire to work closely with each other,” – Said Scholz.

On Friday, June 23, the largest Air Defender 2023 air exercises in the history of NATO, organized by Germany. 250 aircraft from 25 countries take part in them, including the Turkish Air Force.
