German scientist answered Macron: intermediary cannot be a biased

German scientist Dr. Michael Hess wrote an open letter of protest to Emmanuel Macron and expressed a critical attitude to the views of the French president on Azerbaijan in an interview with the France-2 television channel. The scientist posted an open letter in his personal account on the social network Facebook.

“I am not a citizen of France, Armenia or Azerbaijan, I have no ethnicity to any of the peoples living in these countries, however, as a researcher, the author of several books and articles about the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, I considered it important to send you to be important A small open letter, ”the scientist wrote.

The German scientist does not agree with the fact that the French president expresses his personal opinion in an interview, saying that Macron’s position is the official position of France. Hess draws attention to other illogical moments of the speech of the French leader:

“On the one hand, you describe France as” part of the intermediary forces “, and on the other hand, enthusiastically, with great excitement and effectively emphasize that France supports Armenia in this conflict and will not refuse it.

I do not understand how any state or politician can take the side of one of the parties to the conflict, when it should be neutral, participating in “intermediary” efforts.

The German scientist also believes that it was the participation of the biased France in intermediary platforms (Minsk group) and became one of the reasons for the failures of diplomatic efforts since 1992.

Hess writes that the former Nagorno-Karabakh autonomous region has always been part of Azerbaijan and recalls the UN resolutions in connection with the occupation of Azerbaijani territories.

In an open letter, the scientist also refutes the statements of the President of France that “Azerbaijan has begun war and occupies the territories” and reminds of the Armenian aggression, which began in 1991, of the massacres committed by Armenian armed groups, including the Hodzhalin tragedy.

Hess, suggests that what was said by the French president in an interview was connected with his desire as a policy to establish good relations with the Armenian circles of his country. He also advised Macron not to confuse the position of an intermediary and an arbiter.

Recall that the 55-year-old scientist Michael Reinhard Hess currently works at the Free University of Berlin and the city University of Gizen. He is the author of several books on literature, history and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.

This year, Hess published the book “The Heritage of Shushi. The History and Development of the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan”, the presentation of which was organized at the University of Hell, the State Committee on Refugees and Forced Migrants and a Meeting of Azerbaijani diplomats in Shush.

The scientist sent an official appeal to the Elisean Palace, noting that he would publish it on social networks, and then posted an appeal on his Facebook page.
