In January-April 2023, 1 million 798 thousand 595 people arrived on vacation to the tourist “capital” by air, which became a record indicator for the tourism sector of the Southern Province.
Antalya’s culture and tourism department told Anadolu that the previous record of the tourist flow of the first 4 months of the year was recorded in the dopandemium 2019, when 1 million 554 thousand 810 tourists arrived in the province. In 2019, this indicator amounted to 1 million 554 thousand 810, in 2020 – 508 thousand 738, in 2021 – 445 thousand 088, and finally, last year – 1 million 217 thousand 196.
According to the Office, the tourist flow of the first four months of 2023 surpassed last year data by 48 percent.
Top Touropotage Studies in Antalya was headed by Germany – 446 thousand 542. Russia followed by Russia (393 thousand 932) and Great Britain (201 thousand 749).
The Chairman of the Association of Hoteliers and the Tourist Objects of the Mediterranean Region of Turkey (AKTOB), Kaan Kashif Kavalogl, noted that in the context of four months, Germany was ahead of the Russian Federation in the number of tourists in Antalya.
“According to the results of the year, we predict in Antalya a tourist flow of 15 million people. We directly expect up to 3.5 million tourists from Russia,” said the head of Aktob.
