Chairman of the Christian-Democratic Union (XDS), candidate for Chancellors of the Federal Republic of Germany Armin Puttis threatened Russia to block the gas pipeline “Northern Stream-2”, if it is used against Ukraine, as well as in the event of any other aggressive actions against this country. He told about this in an interview with the RzeczPospolita newspaper, reports the Edition Die Welt.
“If Russia again commit aggressive actions directed against Ukraine, then Germany will take action at the national level and will advocate for penalties from the entire European Union,” said the nervas.
According to him, the threat of sanctions will be a guarantee that Russia will not be able to “use a pipeline as a geopolitical weapon.”
