Germany: Russian Embassy was accused of misinformation about war in Ukraine

Minister of Internal Affairs of Germany Nancy Fezer accused the Russian Embassy of Berlin of spreading misinformation about the Russian war in Ukraine.

“Some platforms on the Web create ideal conditions for campaigns on misinformation and propaganda of war. The Russian embassy uses this,” quotes on Sunday, May 1, AFP The words of the Fezer, spoken in the interview with the newspaper Handelsblatt.

The head of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs warned that appropriate measures could be taken. She recalled that the Government of Germany has already expelled “40 alleged diplomats who are allegedly related to the Russian special services,” while noting that there are “other options”.

According to Fezer, the Russian propaganda of the war should have “no influence on the inner world in our country.” She noted that measures against such hybrid threats have already been taken. So, for example, the European Union took care of the ban on broadcasting of the Russian channel Russia Today. “We must contrast facts with false narratives, lies and misinformation,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Germany emphasized.
