Germany will allocate another € 1 billion for maintenance of refugees

The Government of Germany will allocate one billion euros in addition to the maintenance of refugees this year.

This was stated by the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Sholts following consultations on refugee issues between the federal government and lands, the German government said.

According to Scholyts, the debate went constructively, some agreements were reached. He noted that the goal of a policy of refuge and refugees should be the achievement of a joint distribution system.

“The federal government will continue to work within the framework of the European Union in order to ensure the achievement of a mandatory agreement on the reception of refugees between all member countries,” the resolution specifies.

According to the Government of Germany, refugees are currently arriving in Germany not only from Ukraine, but also from other countries. In the first four months of the current year, the number of shelter petitions increased by 78.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
