Germany will invest in Transkaspian corridor

On September 6, the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev adopted an economic delegation from Germany. Businessmen became interested in the Transkaspian transport corridor and are ready to invest in the project, according to the website of the Kazakhstani leader.

“representatives of the delegation” expressed an interest in the participation of German business in the development of the Trans -Caspian transport corridor, the development of deposits and cooperation in the energy sector, ”the statement said.

The Transkaspian International Transport Route (TMTM) runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Kaspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to European countries. It is an alternative to the Russian Trans -Siberian Railway for the delivery of goods from China to Europe. On it can be transported up to 10 million tons of cargo per year, including up to 200 thousand containers.

In April 2022, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Georgia signed a four-sided declaration “On the Transcaspian corridor of the East-West.” It was argued that countries will jointly increase the transit potential of the route, and the corridor itself will be integrated into the international transport system.
