Germany will refuse to import oil from Russia even in absence of a consensus in European Union

Germany will refuse the import of Russian oil before the end of this year, even if European countries do not coordinate this measure for the next package of sanctions, Bloomberg reports with reference to sources in the Government of Germany.

It is noted that the office of the Chancellor Olaf Sholts is determined to get the same from partners in the European Union. Berlin already concludes transactions with alternative energy suppliers, but the list of countries that will fill the oil deficiency is not yet voiced.

The Federal Republic of Germany is confident that it will be able to solve logistics issues within six to seven months, the agency’s interlocutors added. According to the publication, the topic of oil sanctions and energy security will become the main thing in the negotiations of Sholts with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, which are planned for Thursday, as well as at a meeting with the emir of Qatar Tamim Ben Hamad Al Tanya on Friday.
