Global Crude Steel Production Fell 1.6% In September

Global crude steel production in September fell 1.6% year-on-year to 141.8 million tonnes, driven by a 4.6% fall in production in China.

Crude steel production in the United States rose 6.7% to 6.9 million tons, and in India by 13.2% to 13.6 million tons.

In September, crude steel production in Brazil fell 3.2% to 2.8 million tons, and in Russia production was estimated to fell by 3.8% to 5.2 million tons.

During the period, production in Germany fell by 0.6% to 3 million tons, and in Iran increased by 6% to 2.3 million tons.

According to the Union, crude steel production in Turkey in September increased by 3.3% compared to the same period last year and reached 3.2 million tons.

In January-September this year, crude steel production in Turkey increased by 0.6% and reached 28.1 million tons.

Thus, in January-September this year, global crude steel production decreased by 1.6% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1 billion 373.8 million tons.
