In a few days, the new president of the Federation of one of the most popular species in Russia – biathlon will be determined. For the chair of the head of the Union of Biathlonists of Russia (SBR), two candidates are fighting: the current president Victor Maygurov and vice president Alexei Nedovov.
Before the immediate election, the 54-year-old Colonel of Nedov, who serves as vice president at Gazfonta, once commanded a special forces platoon and visited the hot spots of the former USSR, which he told in an interview with the Sports Sports magazine.
“We began to direct us on business trips to suppress the riots in the USSR, which fell apart. The first business trip to Yerevan: we were given a weapon, but there was no ammunition. We flew more to demonstrate strength. And the first really serious business trip, where I had to apply weapons to complete the task – this is Baku, the so -called “Black January” 1990.
We sat in the unit – and then anxiety: an hour for fees, then by cars, we arrived at the Chkalovsky airfield, the sides were already standing. We were told: flying to Baku, you will find out the task on the spot. We flew to Baku and did nothing for two weeks, settled in school. On some evening we were gathered: the city has a heavy environment, mass riots. The task is to take control and restore the constitutional order, ”said the applicant for the post of head of the SBR.
Nedov recalls that one regiment of the division had to enter the city from the south, and it was from the village of Baladzhara to meet them.
“In the center – on Narimanov Avenue, at government buildings – we had to connect. At two in the morning we advanced in the walk. The armament of my platoon was standard for special forces – AK with full ammunition, of which it was somewhat equipped with PBS (devices For silent and free shooting) and NSPU (night rifle sight – to see green in the dark), sniper rifles.
We approached the bridge, and then the whole area is visible – there is the crowd, the bridge is forced by zylaim -cement trucks: they are large, it is good to hide behind them. And there are a lot of places: put two pieces – here is the finished barricade. It is clear that there are a lot of people, but little to us was visible – from our side the lanterns are beaten, ”Nedov emphasized.
According to him, he, as well as three more fighters, went ahead when a dump truck with an iron body left.
“I raised the machine – it does not stop. I made a warning shot up – it still goes. I already gave the turn up and automatically ordered the fighters: to battle!”, – concluded one of the perpetrators of the tragedy on January 20.
