Grain transaction led to decrease in wheat prices

The average wheat price due to the sale of a grain transaction decreased from $ 440 per ton to $ 320, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Vakhit Kirishchi said at a meeting of agricultural and forestry of the Turkish.

According to him, on January 5, 16.8 million tons of agricultural products, including grain, were taken along the grain corridor on 626 vessels.

“If at the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine the price per ton of wheat was $ 440, now it is within $ 320,” said the Turkish minister.

He also said that 54% of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports were delivered to European countries, 28% – Asia, 12% – Africa and 6% – the Middle East.

Agreements on the export of food from Ukraine were concluded on July 22, 2022 in Istanbul for 120 days. One of the agreements initially acted until November 19 and regulated the procedure for the export of grain from the ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and South controlled by Kyiv.

The agreements were extended on November 17 for the next 120 days. The transaction was renewed automatically due to the lack of objections of the parties participating in it (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN).
