Great Britain after 14 years restored diplomatic relations with Syria.
According to the statement of the British Foreign Ministry, Minister David Lammy visited Syria on an official visit after the fall of the Assad regime in December.
Lammy, who restored relations with Syria, diplomatic relations with which were torn 14 years ago, was adopted by Syria President Ahmed al-Shara.
During a meeting, which was also present at Syrian Minister Assad Hassan Shaibani, Lammy expressed the support of Great Britain in creating a safer and prosperous Syria and said that the transition process in the country should be more inclusive.
The minister emphasized that stable Syria also meets the interests of Great Britain, adding that they want to make sure that the deash was destroyed, and the Syrians will not fall into the trap of people’s traders.

The head of the British Foreign Ministry also met with representatives of the “White Helmets” who are engaged in humanitarian apertures in the country.
Lammy, said that this year he will support the organization to prevent chemical weapons in the amount of £ 2 million (about 110 million lire) to destroy the chemical weapons remaining from the Assad regime. He also visited enterprises where women work.
The statement notes that the UK will allocate 94.5 million pounds (about 5.1 billion pounds) to support commercial and humanitarian services in the country.
“During our first visit to the level of ministers after the fall of the Assad regime, I personally convinced of the extraordinary progress, which the Syrians achieved of the restoration of their life and their country,” Lammy said.
He emphasized that the restoration of diplomatic relations with Syria is responsible for the interests of Great Britain: “In our interests to support the new government in building a more stable, safe and prosperous Syria for all Syrians.”
