Hakan Fidan Emphasized Turkey’s Determination To Deepen Cooperation With Montenegro

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a meeting in Istanbul with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Montenegro Ervin Ibrahimovic.

According to diplomatic sources, Fidan stressed Turkey’s determination to deepen cooperation and strengthen friendship between the two countries, and also expressed hope that all necessary measures will be taken to prevent the recurrence of attacks against the security and rights of Turkish citizens in Montenegro.

Previously in the Montenegrin media there were reports of a knife attack on Turkish citizens in Podgorica.

After this, the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajic announced on the social network of the American company X about the temporary suspension of the visa-free regime for Turkish citizens.

Fidan, in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajic and Ibrahimovic on October 27, expressed the hope that the necessary measures will be taken to protect security and rights Turkish citizens in Montenegro.

The Podgorica High Court later said that two people arrested on suspicion of involvement in the knife attack had nothing to do with the case and were released.
