This was stated by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ankara Seit Ardych, commenting on the decision to declare Ankara “The Tourist Capital of the Turkic World” in 2026 at the 10th meeting of tourism ministers participating in the organization of Turkic states.
According to him, the assignment of Ankara status “Tourist capital of the Turkic world” in 2026 opens an important opportunity to increase the number of international direct flights from the city.
The capital of Turkey, which is the engine of the national economy due to its industrial production, employment and export, with a rich cultural and historical heritage, is more than worthy of this honorary mission, he said.

The head of the chamber emphasized the willingness of the organization to contribute to that Ankara would receive the maximum return on this status and fully realize its potential.
“In 2026, we will accept not only the fraternal peoples of the Turkic countries, but also guests from around the world. This will give the impulse to the economy of our capital and strengthen its international recognition,” he said.
Assigning the title of “Tourist capital of the Turkic world” is an important opportunity to increase the number of direct international flights from Ankara, Ardych said.
