The expansion of NATO at the expense of Finland and Sweden and the “hybrid war” against Russia with the “use of Ukraine” was called the head of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, the head of the Russian General Staff.

According to him, the Moscow and Leningrad military districts will create three motorized rifle divisions as part of combined arms associations in the annexed Russian Federation in 2022 of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions of Ukraine, as well as the army corps in Karelia. Valery Gerasimov spoke about this in an interview with the Russian media.

According to Gerasimov, the plan for the construction and development of the Air Force of Russia can be adjusted when the country’s military security is changed. “Today, such threats have become aspirations of the North Atlantic Alliance to expand at the expense of Finland and Sweden, as well as the use of Ukraine as a tool for conducting a hybrid war against our country,” said the head of the General Staff of the Russian Federation.

According to him, “in order to neutralize” these threats, adjustments were made in the plan, which were approved by President Vladimir Putin. The main changes are “the creation of the Moscow and Leningrad military districts, the formation of three motorized rifle divisions as part of combined arms associations in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions, as well as the army corps in Karelia,” said Gerasimov.

He added that the purpose of such work is to “ensure guaranteed protection of the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of our country.” “Modern Russia has not yet known such a level and intensity of military operations,” Gerasimov appreciated the course of “special operation”. According to him, Russia opens “almost the entire collective West.”

The head of the General Staff of the Russian Federation also noted that the mobilization training system in the country “was not fully adapted to new modern economic relations.” According to Gerasimov, I had to “fix everything on the go.”
