Head Of Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Of Kazakhstan Discussed With Secretary General Of TurkPA Issues Of Interaction Within Assembly

Kazakhstan attaches great importance to strengthening the parliamentary dimension of Turkic cooperation. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ermek Kosherbayev at a meeting with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking States (TurkPA) Ramil Hasan, who took up his duties on October 15, 2025.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, during the conversation the parties discussed issues of interaction within Assemblies and results of the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Gabala on October 7.

Kosherbayev noted that the results of the Gabala summit will contribute to the implementation of joint projects within the Turkic PA. He also emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to strengthening the parliamentary dimension of Turkic cooperation.

“TurkPA today occupies a special place in the system of Turkic integration, serving as an important platform for strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue and coordinating legislative initiatives of our countries,” the minister said.

Hasan, in turn, informed about the current state of affairs in TurkPA, which is chaired by Kazakhstan this year, and also shared his plans for the further development of the Assembly.

TurkPA is a parliamentary association of Turkic-speaking states, which was established on November 21, 2008 at the initiative of Kazakhstan. The members of the organization are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye.

The chairmanship of the TurkPA annually passes from one country to another according to the principle of rotation in alphabetical order of the English language. During the XIV plenary meeting of the TurkPA on June 12, 2025 in Astana, the chairmanship passed from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan.
