Türkiye will continue to actively develop economic cooperation with Iraq, trying to achieve a goal of $ 30 billion in terms of trade. This was stated by the Minister of Trade of Turkey Omer Bolat in the publication on the social network.
The head of the department noted that he met at the airport of Esenbog by Prime Minister Iraq Muhammad Shiya al-Sudani, who arrived in Ankara at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Bolat added that bilateral and interdepartmental meetings with the participation of the leaders of the two countries will take place as part of the visit.
“I am sure that negotiations will play a key role in the further strengthening of rapidly developing Turkish -Iraqi relations in the field of politics, economics, security and trade,” the minister said.
The head of the department emphasized that Türkiye will continue decisive steps to increase mutual investments and strengthen trade ties, including through the project “Path of Development” and the creation of new border crossings.
Bolat also expressed confidence that the visit of the Prime Minister Iraq will have a significant impact on the development of relations between the two countries.
