Chairman of Milli Majlis Azerbaijan Sahib Gafarov, which is in a working visit to Russia, met with the director of the Regional European Bureau of the World Health Organization (WHO) Hans Klev.
As reported by HaqQin.az in the Department of Public Relations and Press Milli Majlis, speaking about productive cooperation between Azerbaijan and WHO, Gafarov noted the continuation of the development of links with the organization operating in the country since 1994, in various directions.
Tug was informed about the measures to combat COVID-19 in Azerbaijan. Gafarov noted that Azerbaijan is one of the countries that make efforts to achieve equal and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.
Director of the WHO Regional Office Hans Keleva expressed satisfaction with the meeting with the Chairman of Milli Majlis and noted a high assessment of the contribution of Azerbaijan to fight a pandemic and efforts to overcome it. He stressed the successful continuation of this process, and emphasized that the steps taken by the Azerbaijani government at the beginning of the pandemic and decisions were shown that the situation was under the complete control of the head of state. The beach thanked Azerbaijan for supporting and contributing to the global response to the pandemic, and added that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries of the world to counter COVID-19.
