“There are no more disputed areas. There have even been armed clashes. How many of our heroes have died – border guards who guarded the border and our land? I hope that now there will be no such clashes, because there are no subject for dispute,” Tashiev said, quoted by AKIpress.

According to Tashiev, the rules for the use of firearms and their number in the Armed Forces, including among border guards, are being completely revised.

“Border guards will now not use heavy weapons and heavy equipment. We are removing all this in agreement with neighboring states. Only light small arms will remain in service,” he said, adding that the service is being simplified and transferred. in a light regime.

Earlier, in February 2025, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan finally resolved the border issue, and later the heads of state signed the State Border Treaty. On March 31, the presidents of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, at the first ever summit of the three states, signed an agreement on the point where the borders of their countries meet and the “Khujand Declaration of Eternal Friendship.”
