Head of Turkish Ministry of Defense: Since beginning of year, over 2150 terrorists have been neutralized

Since January 1, 2023, the Turkish security forces neutralized more than 2150 members of the Red Army terrorist organization.

This was stated on Sunday by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Yashar Guler.

“The total number of terrorists neutralized since the beginning of the year has reached 2156 people,” Guler said, referring to the pilots of the Turkish Air Force, who had inflicted air strikes on the positions of terrorists in the north of Iraq and Syria on Saturday.

“Not a single member of the treacherous terrorist organization can avoid the dlanie of our heroic soldiers. Operations will continue on growing until the bloody terrorists disappear from this geography, regardless of who supports them,” the head of the departments emphasized.

Six military personnel of the Turkish Armed Forces died, one was injured in a clash with terrorists in the north of Iraq. This was reported on Saturday by the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey.

The department later reported that during air operations in the north of Iraq and Syria, 29 goals were destroyed and many militants of the Red Army terrorist organization were neutralized.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that since 1984, when the militants of the RSC for the first time had carried out a bloody crime in Turkey, and until March 2020, 7,500 security forces of Turkey and 6,800 civilians were killed at the hands of this bloody organization.

The United States and the European Union introduced PKK to the lists of terrorist organizations.

Despite Ankara’s attempts to find ways to settle the situation, the PKK terrorist organization has resumed armed attacks since July 2015.

In recent years, PKK seeks to shift responsibility for bloody crimes in the region to its branches.

In Syria, PKK terrorists are covered by the names Pyd and YPG, and in the last two years they call themselves “Syrian democratic forces.”

In Iran, PKK acts as “Party of Free Life of Kurdistan” (pjak).
