The heads of the NATO General Staffs for the first time gathered under the chairmanship of the new head of the military committee, Admiral Giuseppe Kavo Dragon, to discuss the agenda of preparation for the Summit in the Hague, which will be held next month.
The Italian Admiral Kavo Dragon, who replaced the Dutchman Rob Bauer as Dutchman, said that during this difficult time, NATO is obliged to continue to provide his political leadership as objective and professional military recommendations, ensuring clarity and determination.
The Drone noted that the foreign ministers of the Sanizer countries these days hold an informal meeting in Antalya. “The purpose of the meeting is to reflect our commitment to the union and the integrated approach in the confrontation of global challenges through unity and partnership,” he said.
Due to participation in the Antalya meeting, the general secretary of NATO Mark Rutte was not present at a meeting of the military committee. According to the admiral,
“The General Secretary asked him to transfer his full support and is looking forward to the results of today’s consultations.”
The Drone said that at the Summit in the Hague on June 24-25, the main attention will be paid to strengthening the deterrence and defense capabilities, interacting with partners and continuing support for Ukraine.
Before the meeting, the memory of the dead and wounded troops under the flags of NATO, the UN, the EU and other unions of like -minded people was honored with a minute of silence.
At the meeting, Turkey is represented by the head of the General Staff Metin Gurak.
NATO military committees traditionally gather three times a year: twice in Brussels and once in the Sanitary Country.
